The objective of this study is to find out the satisfactory level of dental laboratory heads in Gyeonggi area about dental technicians who graduated from junior colleges. This study was conducted for 69 dental laboratory heads in Gyeonggi area from January to March 2003 by means of a questionnaire. The results were as follows : 1. The mean satisfactory index of the dental laboratory heads about all dental technicians who graduated from their major of junior college was 2.99± 0.72. 2. As for job career, the mean satisfactory index of the dental laboratory heads about 17-20 year experience group of dental technicians and over 21 year experience group was 3.10, 3.05 for 13-16 year experience group, 3.00for 5-8 year experience group and under 4 year experience group, and 2.62 for 9-12 year experience group. 3. As for the heads’ satisfaction on their technicians’ work, the satisfactory index of the very satisfied group was 3.56, 2.97 for the satisfied group, 2.93 for the moderate group, and 1.50 for the dissatisfied group. 4. As for the laboratory management, the satisfactory index of thevery satisfied group was 3.00, 3.33 for the satisfied group, 2.95 for the moderate group, 2.38 for the dissatisfied group, and 2.00 for the very dissatisfied group. 5. As for the income, the satisfactory index of the satisfied group was 3.10, 2.97 for the moderate group and 2.88 for the dissatisfied group. 6. As for job opportunities, the satisfactory index of the optimistic group was 3.50, 3.17 for the moderate group, and 2.73 for the pessimistic group.
